DESCRIPTION
In this film from the 1950s, we witness a series of diverse scenes. It starts with a man rolling a marble around a model of the Earth, accompanied by shots of rockets on launchpads and bright lights with smoke. The film then transitions to a model of a spinning satellite and more rolling of the marble around the Earth model. Nature is captured with scenes of plant roots, a flowing waterfall, and a man observing the surroundings in fields and woods. The man interacts with the environment, examining the ground, touching trees, and exploring moss. There are glimpses of communication antennas rotating, machines printing graph data, electronic typewriters, and spinning computer tape reels. The film also includes shots of men operating equipment, monitoring screens, and utilizing satellite dishes. A topographical model of the Earth is highlighted repeatedly. The film concludes with a captain steering a boat, men checking dials and gauges in a cockpit, and a man sitting on a tractor, reflecting on the sky. This is silent, raw Kodachrome stock footage from the Coronet educational film company that they would use in their films.
