DESCRIPTION
This home movie from the 1930s captures a family's road trip along the Lincoln Highway, US 30, and other highways in the United States en route to Alaska. The family stops at various hotels and motels, takes in the sights of different towns, and poses for photos along the way. They also stop at gas stations and service stations, and enjoy spending time by a lake. The film features shots of roads, cars, signs, and buildings, and includes title cards with location information. At the end of the film, the family is traveling on the Custer Battlefield Highway. It also shows a family traveling on a road trip along the Lincoln Highway, passing through Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, and Wyoming. They visit hotels, stop at gas stations, and take in the scenery of the rural areas they are passing through. The movie includes footage of the car driving along curvy mountain roads, through thick forests, and past cowboy on horseback. The family also stops to take in the view of the mountain valleys and take short hikes. They also stop at a cabin in the woods and play with a cat and dip their toes in a cold river. The movie ends with a view of the curvy road they had just driven from above.
