DESCRIPTION
This home movie from the 1930s features a trip to Soap Lake, Washington, known for its curative power. The movie shows people playing in the lake, applying mud to their skin for its healing properties, and driving on dirt roads surrounded by hills and forest. There is also a segment of people enjoying a water slide at Lake Washington and a group of people hiking on a trail with a mountain peak covered in snow in the background. It features views of the state's natural beauty such as mountains, waterfalls, rivers, and snow-capped peaks from a train and boat. It also shows the man-made structures such as bridges, settlements, and a timber mill. There are scenes of people playing on the beach and getting mud treatments, family and children on a boat trip and playing on deck, and gold panning. The passengers on the train and boat are also seen disembarking and milling around, and a man is seen with a large fish he caught.
