Betty learns from Johnny that she has that "Know How Look" compared to a miserable, grimy girl that happens to be walking past Betty's window. Betty confides to Johnny that she uses clothing tricks to accomplish her look and to augment her figure. Then we watch as she sews a dress using Simplicity pattern all the while mixing up the concept of "looking smart" with "being smart".
