DESCRIPTION
A bitter look at the price of fornication, this black and white film follows, Jane, a young newspaper reporter as she tells about her relationship with Frank, an Army GI whom she has waited to return home from war. We follow their story beginning during the war. We watch as Frank returns on holiday leave and the two talk of starting their own family. As the war continues, we follow as Jane waits patiently for Frank's return while working at the newspaper. When opportunity arises from another suitor, she remains true to her love. When Frank returns, they excitedly marry. We learn, however, that he was not true to her. Unknown to the couple until she falls ill, Jane has developed the venereal disease gonorrhea and her childbearing organs have been affected. Their life together is ruined, and they part ways.
