DESCRIPTION
Program is about television broadcasting and the uses of television in one community, that of Binghamton, New York. Interviewed about television are an aviation plant technician, a dairy farmer, a housewife, a librarian, a teacher and a museum director. Excerpts featured in this documentary include a program on fighter pilots flying in formation, narrated by Walter Cronkite; a program about the music and dance of India; sports and news programming highlights; a live brain surgery operation narrated by Eric Sevareid; an interview with a drug addict; an interview by Edward R. Murrow with Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru; a telecast of "Sleeping Beauty"; a children's science program, with Frank Baxter; and an educational program, with Chet Huntley speaking about nuclear energy.
