DESCRIPTION
The film "Ishi In Two Worlds" chronicles the life of Ishi, the last known member of the Yahi tribe, who emerged from hiding in 1911 after his people were nearly wiped out by gold prospectors and settlers. Fleeing persecution, Ishi's band lived in seclusion for decades until he was discovered alone and destitute. He was brought to the University of California, where he lived out his days at the Museum of Anthropology, sharing his culture and skills with the outside world while grappling with the loss of his people and the profound changes in society.
