DESCRIPTION
The Apollo spacecraft is a complex transportation system designed for lunar missions, standing 363 feet tall and weighing over 6 million pounds at launch. It consists of three main components: the Command Module, which serves as the crew's living quarters and returns to Earth; the Service Module, which provides power and propulsion; and the Lunar Module, which is used for landing on the Moon. The spacecraft operates with a launch escape system for safety, and the lunar mission involves a docking maneuver between the Command and Lunar Modules. After lunar exploration, the Lunar Module is left in orbit while the Command Module returns home.
