Sleeping Beauty (1940s)

In a magical kingdom, a queen gives birth to a beautiful princess named Brier Rose. The king invites all the fairies to bestow their gifts at a christening, but one fairy, Piod, who is not invited, curses the princess to die on her 17th birthday after pricking her finger on a spinning wheel. Another fairy alters the curse so that the princess will instead fall into a deep sleep for 100 years. Despite efforts to destroy all spinning wheels, Brier Rose inadvertently pricks her finger and falls asleep, along with the entire kingdom. After 100 years, a prince arrives, kisses her, and awakens her and the kingdom. They fall in love and are granted permission to marry, living happily ever after.
